MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The 58th Annual Montana State Science Fair will be held March 18th and 19th, 2013 at The University of Montana's Adams Center. Early Check-In/Late Registration will be held on Sunday March 17th, 2013. As in previous years, all participants will receive a ribbon and t-shirt. Additionally, up to four students will be chosen to represent Montana at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (all expenses paid), which will be held in Phoenix this year.

Montana Center for Work Physiology and Exercise Metabolism (WPEM)
The 2013 Montana State Science Fair logo will reflect Dr. Brent Ruby's research at the Montana Center for Work Physiology and Exercise Metabolism (WPEM). WPEM works to design and perform cutting-edge, innovative research that is applicable to occupations and recreational endeavors that push the human body to its limit.
2012 Montana State Science Fair
Last year, over 600 students from across Montana showcased their mastery of the scientific method in the 57th Annual Montana State Science Fair, and a few exceptional students were even chosen to represent Montana in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), held in Pittsburgh.

Last year, the Montana State Science Fair was also excited to welcome a new director to our team, Dr. Earle Adams. Dr. Adams received his PhD from Montana State University before joining The University of Montana as a Research Professor in Chemistry. Dr. Adams is looking forward to his second year with the fair!

Last year, our shirt theme reflected Dr. Garon “G-Whiz” Smith’s presentation at the 2011 awards ceremony concerning the feasibility of bees as dangerous material identifiers.
The Montana Science Fair is Montana's state science fair and has been a major event at The University of Montana, Missoula, since 1956. Presently, the Fair is jointly sponsored by The University of Montana and the Missoula Exchange Club and co-sponsored by The University of Montana President's Office. It is funded by the UM Excellence Fund , other campus departments, outside contributions, and the proceeds from the Fair.

The Montana Science Fair is affiliated with the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) . The grand award winners from The Montana Science Fair and Montana's regional fairs go on to compete at ISEF in a different U.S. city each year. ISEF is administered by Science Service, whose headquarters are in Washington D.C.
